Ok, went to the gym and hit some pads last night after not feeling well last few weeks. Had an ulterior motive as well. Was also doing a photoshoot for Fight! Magazine as part of the interview there. I hired my own photographer to come and take pictures. I will say, if you are in the San Antonio area and need a photographer, don’t hesitate to contact Vanessa Velasquez. She did an amazing job. She’s super nice, very professional, takes great pics and got them to me on time when in a crunch. I’d hire her again for just about anything else I can think of.
Here are some of the photos with me training with my Muay Thai instructor, Jayson.
I got a whole bunch more. The above ones will not be in the magazine. It was fun to hit pads again, though I got winded rather quickly. I thought it was due to not having trained last few weeks. The photographer said though it was really hot in the gym and she was getting tired just walking around so maybe I’m not gonna be as bad off as I fear when I go back to jiu jitsu on Thursday.
My stepdaughter might take Muay Thai with me in June when school lets out. She often shadow boxes around the house or play hits me and she has pretty good technique for just screwing around, and quick hands. I told her she needs to come to a class with me and hit some stuff. Maybe I’ll put pads on and let her hit me, what kid wouldn’t like that?
Anyway, not much else new on the fighting front. Had an insane week last week due to some personal things. Now the worst of it is behind me, I’m starting to feel better, so hopefully I can get myself back on track.
I’m still losing weight despite not having trained. I weighed in the other day at 293, almost 60 pounds less than where I first started. My minimum fight weight I want to reach is 260, so I’m getting within striking distance of that goal. Now I just gotta get my training and diet back on track and hopefully I’ll be ready for a smoker in May.
