So this has been a pretty neat week so far. Well week is over I guess, but it’s still been cool. I got a new writing gig as an MMA writer for http://mmajam.ca They are a Canada based MMA ezine. Their focus had been on up and coming Canadian fighters, but are now branching out to cover national promotions and different regional fighters.
So I already have a couple articles posted there. Here is where you can read them. This next week I will be doing some fighter interviews. I will also be getting a press pass for Premier Combat Group’s June 8th card here in San Antonio. So should be some fun and exciting things.
This is great, because now the blog can focus on my fitness related topics, and the MMA stuff can go to MMA Jam’s website and hopefully lead to bigger things. Thank you everyone for joining me on this ride.
Some cool things going on this week. I didn’t train at all, after dealing with the other bouts of illness I’ve had, this week it was a nasty sinus infection. I didn’t want to be dripping snot all over my training partners so I stayed home and sucked down NyQuil. I’m mostly better now. Went to the gym and did some cardio for about 40 minutes. I need to get back into a routine. Hopefully next week I can get back to training and work my way back up to the more rigorous schedule I said I’d do back in January.
In news of cool stuff, I’ve decided one thing to do to make this blog more interesting is to begin doing interviews with fighters, promoters, or others affiliated with mixed martial arts. I thought it would be a good way to mix things up. So next week I will be interviewing Chad “The Savage” George
Chad is a former WEC bantamweight fighter. He’s currently rehabbing after surgery and hopes to make a run for the UFC. He was featured in the documentary “Occupation Fighter” which is currently available for free on Netflix. I recommend you check it out, it is an excellent film.
I’ve talked to some others about potential interviews as well. I will try to relate the interviews to fitness, and health in the same tone that the rest of my blog has been. One thing I’ve found in training with fighters that I love, is they love to see people getting healthy and improving themselves. So this I’m really excited about where this all will go.
