It’s been a bit since I’ve checked in. I’ve had a lot of things going on. I’m working on getting the coaching business going. It’s been a little slow, but gradually getting there. Also still doing the Body by Vi Challenge. I’ve had some success there and getting a lot of leads, so just waiting on that to get going. I’m confident all of these things will work. It’s just a matter of sticking to it long enough for things to fall into place.
I’m about 11 or 12 days in to the Body by Vi challenge and I’ve lost 5 lbs. My wife started the challenge with me a few days later and she’s down 6 lbs. So I’m seeing it does work. I don’t feel hungry, tired or deprived. I’ve also pretty much eliminated sodas from my diet completely.
I haven’t been able to train MMA much. My old job was closer to the gym so I’d make it over there after work. Now it isn’t, so to go there for a one hour class, it’s a 30-45 minute drive there and back. So the one hour class ends up eating up 3-4 hours of the day. I’m considering joining some place closer. But I love it at Ohana, so just going to have to take a look at some things. On nights I can’t make it to the gym, I’ve started doing some Muay Thai drills in my living room.
It looks like this:
5 minute rounds each:
round 1-Leg lifts
Round 3-Shadow boxing/hands only
Round 4-Alternating front and rear teep
Round 5-Alternating knees
I’m usually pretty wiped at the end of 30 minutes. I take 30 second breaks in between rounds. I’ll add to it as my cardio builds up and add combos and such to additional rounds.
I started a walking group as well called the Fat 2 Fighter Walkers. We did 5 miles the other night on our Riverwalk. Wife and I walked the same route today. Our next group walk is Sunday night. So that should be fun. It’s getting pretty hot here. I should have worn my hat today, the sun was pretty merciless the last mile or so.
So still lots of cool and exciting things going on. I’ll try to post more often again. I’m down 65 lbs total. I’m also considering expanding my goal beyond 250. My goal was to lose and get to 250 lbs and fight heavyweight. I’m considering instead, cutting to 205 and fighting light heavyweight. Maybe even 185. Since I’m 6’0 tall 185 wouldn’t be unreasonable. Once I’m at 250, I’ll see how I look and feel then go from there.
