About Tim

I’m a 39 year old father to one little girl and step father to a little boy and girl. I’m married and live in San Antonio, Texas with my family. I have always struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. Over the past few years, due to a combination of health and stress related issues, my weight ballooned over 350 Lbs. While it was always frustrating for me, the final straw was over the summer while on the river with my family.  A group of college kids called me a beached whale in front of my kids. At that moment, something switched inside me. A couple months later, I began training in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with the goal of becoming an MMA fighter. This blog is my journey in my own words. His journey from obesity to the octagon.

  1. Tim,

Your journey to becoming a MMA fighter and trained Martial Artist have intrigued me. Most people view the practice as a way to fight, but you’re using the training for it’s sole benefit: bettering yourself.

I am the founder of World Aikido-Yoga (WAY) and a trained Martial Artist. My book, “The Secret Science of Combat Strategy” is an, in-depth glimpse into the heart and soul of a true martial artist, complete with photographs. It provides both experts, and first-timers with the necessary combat techniques, Zen-based tactics and deep wisdom needed to win in combat and life.

I’d love the opportunity to exchange guest blogs with each other, or to send you a copy of my book for review. Would you be interested? If so, let me know and I can send you my publicist’s info to get a book shipped your way.
